About Me

Hello.

Thank you for stopping by and if you made it this far I hope you will take the next few minutes to get to know me.  My name is Luis and I am a Wedding & Portrait photographer serving Southern California.

I have an overwhelming passion for photography. It is a passion that started at an early age and was rooted in me by my older brother, an artist. I remember being a little boy and sitting in the room watching my brother draw and paint. I was amazed how strokes of his wrist on a blank piece of paper could create beautiful lines, shapes, and compositions. I remember him giving me a blank piece of paper and a torn-out page from a “Muscle” magazine and then he would instruct me on how to see and re-create the lines, shapes, and shadows of the bulging muscles. Although I didn’t possess his talent, it was these initial lessons that ultimately shaped how I frame and capture my photographs.

I spent my youth in Boy Scouts and this was when I first picked up a camera.  I wanted to document and revisit all the beautiful places I would camp and travel to.  I remember the joy and excitement each time I would drop off my film at Costco and wait for it to be developed. The learning curve was harsh, I was happy if one picture came back looking great. It was during this time of innocence and discovery where landscapes ruled my world and dreams of Ansel Adams filled my head. I remember sleeping on the beach in Catalina Island, being five feet away from a deer in the Grand Canyon, feeling like I was in the clouds as we backpacked through the peak of Mt. San Gorgonio, and seeing buffalo roam in New Mexico. All these memories helped me realize the importance of photography. When I would look at these photos, I would fall in love all over again with the scenery and places. But these photos did more than rekindle the memories of the places I visited; they helped revive the moments I spent with some of the best people I have ever met.

My journey into Wedding Photography began two years ago and it was an unexpected path. I stumbled upon it with great reluctance. A good photographer friend of mine encouraged me to shoot a wedding that she was unable to cover. After I ran out of excuses I accepted the job and I was officially a wedding photographer. It was after this first wedding when I realized that weddings conjure up every emotion and beauty I would like to capture in a photograph. I had so much joy viewing those first images in front of the computer that I think I stayed up until 4am that first day reviewing and editing all the photographs. I was hooked. This joy only multiplied itself after I delivered the photographs to the bride and groom and we reviewed them on my laptop.  I knew then and there that I was meant to be a Wedding Photographer.

Photography is the fire inside me; weddings are the fuel to my fire.
